Famous Cinnamon French Toast


18156902_409679602744070_8073774568668962928_nThere’s nothing quite like good french toast, especially when you’ve got good things like pure maple syrup to top it with. This time I’ve decided to share my original recipe, for those talera-less out there. This was partially motivated by my recent discovery of 14 peso wheat loafs of bread, less than a dollar USD.

18198729_409679652744065_7378026206394242589_nFor 2 people to have a lot, or 3 people to have a normal sized portion:
3 eggs
1/3 c milk
1/2 t cinnamon
1/2 t vanilla
1/4 t nutmeg
3 T brown sugar
butter for pan

This is the quality bread you get for less than a dollar here, and it’s baked in store.

Soak one piece at a time for a few seconds in the eggs and them transfer to the pan, which should be buttered or oiled before any french toast hits it.

Reduce the heat to low and flip to the second side and cook until similar in appearance.

They really are this easy, so easy that I made these sometimes on a daily basis after school. It’s one of those recipes I’ll never forget, partially because it’s so damn easy. The difference with my toast to others is the fact that I put effort into flavoring the custard mixture, which really does make a difference at the end of the day.
